Im Workshop "Statistik und Regression mit R" geht es um die Anwendung von statistischen Methoden in Ihrem Forschungsalltag mit der freien Statistiksoftware R. Im ersten Teil des Workshops frischen wir statistische Grundkentnisse auf; Sie lernen dabei

  • Konfidenzintervalle in R zu bestimmen,
  • statistische Tests in R anzuwenden und
  • Ergebnisse von Tests, insb. p-Werte, und Konfidenzintervalle korrekt zu interpretieren.
    Im zweiten Teil des Workshops wenden wir dieses Wissen auf die lineare Regression an und Sie lernen
  • das Modellieren mit linearen Regressionsmodellen,
  • diese Modelle in R aufzustellen und an Ihre Daten anzupassen sowie
  • deren Ergebnisse kritisch zu interpretieren.

Dieser Workshop baut auf dem Workshop "Einführung in die Datenanalyse mit R" auf. Zur Teilnahme sollten Sie mit grundlegenden Techniken der Visualisierung und Datenverarbeitung in R vertraut sein. Der Workshop wird den JupyterHub der Universität verwenden, sodass Sie keine Software zur Teilnahme installieren müssen.

The workshop "Statistics and Regression with R" focuses on the application of statistical methods in your daily research routine using the open-source statistical software R. In the first part of the workshop, we will refresh statistical basics; during this, you will learn:

  • how to determine confidence intervals in R,
  • how to apply statistical tests in R and
  • how to correctly interpret the results of tests, especially p-values, and confidence intervals. In the second part of the workshop, we apply this knowledge to linear regression and you will learn
  • how to model using linear regression models,
  • how to set these up in R and adjust them to your data, and
  • how to critically interpret their results. This workshop builds on the workshop "Introduction to Data Analysis with R". To participate, you should be familiar with basic techniques of visualization and data processing in R. The workshop will be conducted via the university's JupyterHub, so you won't need to install any software to participate.
